Objectives
Compass was commissioned to undertake a due diligence assessment to establish the presence of any ongoing environmental liabilities which may impact on the future value of the site.
Actions
To meet the clients’ objectives, Compass completed a Phase I desk study and Phase II site investigation to identify potential sources of contamination, pollutant pathways and environmental receptors.
Soil and groundwater contamination was identified beneath the above ground oil storage tanks which was quantified in order to establish likely remediation requirements and associated costs.
Based on the impact to land value associated with the identified contamination, the client made a decision to undertake voluntary betterment at the site including remediation design, management and verification which was carried out by Compass.
