Aimed at those involved in storing or handling hazardous chemicals, our Chemical Hazard Awareness Training course provides a deep dive into the risks associated with chemical hazards in the workplace.

The course is suitable for those involved with the day-to-day use and handling of hazardous materials and is also suitable for those with a non-scientific background.

Our 1 day course is approved by the Royal Society of Chemistry and covers the following subjects:

  • Recognising Hazmats in the Workplace

  • Chemical Classes

  • Common Chemical Reactions Leading to Hazardous Scenarios

  • Managing Hazmat Risks in the Workplace

  • Considerations when Managing Hazmat Incidents

The course has been developed by highly knowledgeable environmental consultants with decades of experience dealing with hazardous materials. It is delivered by trainers with first-hand experience of responding to spillages of hazardous substances in challenging conditions.

We can deliver this course at your premises or offer an enhanced version of this course at our specialist facility in Cheltenham, which includes an interactive laboratory session.

The end-of-course assessment will evaluate the participants learning outcomes and all successful delegates will receive a training certificate valid for two years.

Target Audience:

The course is aimed at anyone who is involved with storing or handling hazardous chemicals at work. It is a generalised chemical hazard awareness course which does not strictly require participants to have a scientific background to benefit from it. Industry sectors targeted include any which handles, stores or otherwise works with hazardous chemicals.

Learning Objectives: 

For delegates to gain knowledge and understanding to enable:

 Assessment:

At the end of the course delegates must complete a 20 question, multi-choice assessment and achieve a minimum 80% pass rate (16/20) to receive a CHAT completion certificate.

 Certificates:

Upon successful completion of the course and assessment, delegates will be sent a certificate of completion which will last for 2 years.
